B17G 42-37838 crashed at Deting 26th november 1943
B17F  42-30221 crashed near Folkestone in sea 27th december 1943
B17G 42-39780 crashed at hockley sole near Hawkinge 30th december 1943
B17G 42-39808 crashed at Allhallows 1st december 1943
B17F 42-31021 crashed at Ash 30th january 1944
B17G 42-37987 crashed at Bredgar 29th january 1944
B17G 42-97458 crashed at Detling 25th febuary 1944
B17G 42-39810 crashed at West Malling 11th febuary 1944
B17   42-37983 crashed at Foreness Point
B17F 42-5910 crashed at Hawkinge 15th september 1943
B17  42-29841 crashed at New Romney
B17  42-2970 crashed at Winchelsea
B17  42-29944 crashed at New Romney 11th October 1943
B17F 42-3076 crashed at Hawkinge 28th july 1943

Those who are intrested in wartime kent and wartime aircrashes,
hope this will be of help.
During world war two there were 831 B17's in europe missing in action and 219 that were salvaged after a crash

Many of the crash sites were cleared up during or after the war,
the ones that are still left  please remember people once flow these and many died in these reckage. Some of these airman there bodies were never found as inafect are war graves so please respect the sites.

Here is some more information regarding these crashes;
42-37838   401 bombgroup crash landed after midair collision,areoplane was called; Fancy Nancy.
42-30221   306 bombgroup shot down possibly by friendly fire after raid to pas de calais.
42-39780   351 bombgroup crash landed at Hawkinge airfield areoplane called; Little Twinkle.
42-39808   381 bombgroup crash landed Allhallows after raid to Leverkusen with three wounded aboard,areoplane salvaged the next day.
42-31021   379 bombgroup crash landed at Ash.
42-37987   91 bombgroup crash landed,after raid on Frankfurt,areoplane called; Man O War Horsepower Limted.
42-97458   457 bombgroup crash landed at Delting air field,repaired but lost on 10/09/44.
42-39810   303 bombgroup crash landed at West Malling airfield,areoplane called;Big A Bird.
42-37983   381 bombgroup crash landed on beach at North Foreland due to battle damage after raid on Berlin.
42-5910   unable to trace due to missing digits in serial number.
42-29841   351 bombgroup crashed landed at New Romney,due to battle damage,areoplane called;Shady Lady.
42-2970   unable to trace due to missing digits in serial number.
42-29944   possibly 303 bombgroup aircraft flew secret missions to North Africa,returned to bombgroup 06/09/43,crash landed at West Malling air field due to battle damage on 07/09/43;areoplane called,Winning Run.
42-3076   unable to trace due to missing digits in serial number.
Most of these areoplanes made emergency landings at air fields and were salvaged.Not able to confirm casulties but persume most crew members okay.

From what i can find out with help from 390th bomb group memorial museum in Suffolk, 42-39780 knowen as little Twink crashed landed near Hawkinge at Hockley Sole killing five of the crew.

Thats interesting, wonder if that was the Capel one I have been trying to find out about that crashed at Tumbletye Farm?
