It was a good evening, went to the marshes and walked accross an area which is now a playing field but is thought to have had plague victims buried there. There was one area in particular which was very strong and on a closer inspection of the ground we noticed an area which was slightly sunken and the grass round the edge was growing different, giving a clear oval shape which could well be a plague pit? I walked round the edge of the area and had a really tight head, felt sick and was getting images of loads and loads of bodies in the ground and souls clambering over each other to try and get out........it was very strange.
We went to a local pub and both me and Nikki picked up on the spirit of a woman who had hung herself in the pub. She was happy where she was, but took her own life because she was unhappy at the time. She was an orphan and was working as a maid in the pub and the rooms upstairs. She could not read and write in life and seemed to have no idea what year she passed over, but said she thought she was 24. She appeared to be victorian (I'm not good with history), and unfortunately insisted on showing me how she died - not the nicest of visions - but seemed happy we were there and eventually wandered off when we finished out chat.
There are many more places in this area which would definately be worth visiting, including one of our branch offices as part of it used to be a very old jail. I will try and find out who to speak to regarding access to the building at night (if this is possible).
