Alan, just by using a Ouija board, you are inviting anything which happens to be there into your house. The usual method is that you sit in a circle so that everyone can have a finger on the planchette and the person in charge asks "Is anybody there?" Anything which responds is then worked.
A crystal pendulum can be used in lieu of a planchette, as can a glass. I have only used a glass and I have seen a group of people each take their fingers off the glass until only one person was left. The glass still moved. This just isn't possible.
Results cannot be faked if you do not use the Ouija board in the first place and I suggest that nobody does use one.
