Why?Why would anyone try to fake their gift? I was chatting to a friend today and we were talking about it. What is the point? I don't understand why someone would want to do that?

They need people to be in awe of them. They need to seem all powerful, so they can manipulate those around them. They gain respect.
For me though it is about me, not how others see me, but how I see me and can help. Can I really help people (alive or passed), can I really do this!
It would be such a waste of time to pretend. Its that good ole saying....You only cheat yourself.
And would powerful spirits be angry at the pretence? Could they then aim their distain at the fake?

Makes sense KC, I do it for myself as well, I love working with spirit and don't see the point in making anything up.

The main reason to fake it is for greed, people say they are a medium and say want people want to hear and charge them money. Anyone down on there luck are open to this and it's what gives the spritulist movement a tarnish on there name.
I would help anyone who needed my help and would not take money off of them, sprit give you the gift to use and help people. If sprit can give it to you, they can just as easy take it away if it is not being used right.
Most good mediums in the world have at some point in there life have been on a low.

Some exploit, some just crave adulation, some are just misguided.
Its a big scary world out there.

I think that ultimately, something like this can only be done for yourself.
Only the medium themselves know if they are making anything up or not.

Possibly, but sometimes other mediums in the team can connect to the same thing and confirm it. That has happened to me quite a few times and it's great.

I have seen this many times.
Like I say, only the individual mediums will know the truth.

It's possible, but other mediums have described what I am seeing without me telling them what I am seeing. Does that make sense? I have done the same to them to.

Today at work there is a woman down on her luck and payed £30 to see a medium, got very little out of it and felt let down and cheated, the medium just told her to come back next month and booked her in.
Sorry, but i do think this is wrong.
People down on there luck need help and not people ripping them off because they are a soft target.
I tryed to show her both sides of it and said in break time that i will not use any psychic powers at all and bet i can gess that line they took and was not far out.
Ofterwoulds i used clairvoyance and gave her more in 5 minutes that they did all evening, i think it,s so wrong to charge people and say they are something that they are not.
Anything i give to people, they can take it or leave it and costs them not a penny, i do it only to help people.

The people that do this are only fooling themselves in the long run and if they are in a group like ours , Then it would be very easy to spot.
If you don't get anything then say so rather than pretending to get the same as sombody after 10 mins which then makes you a liar and an idiot lol
Also i think people do it to impress others

I do not see the point in faking it and lying it just makes you look stupid when you get it all wrong. When i am doing a tarot reading if i can not pick anything up i tell them that and tell them i would happily try again in a week.
