Why do a lot of people who are in the spiritual field seem to have a really tough life or a sad life? It intrigues me why this is!

I think that in many cases these people do not interact well with people and move towards spirit instead.

I fill it's part of the path of life, to understand people, it helps if you have been through it yourself, then you have have the right to say to people yes i understand.
Some people on this site have lost kids, i can't even begin to emagen what pain they have gone though and how hard it is for them to carry on.

I,ve lost a wife in the past and do understand what it's like, but it's when you are at your lowest point in life and just about realy to through the towel in that spirit seem to make themselfs knowen to you and guide you back on the road of recovery.

As you recover and get stronger, so you want to know more about the spirit world, then you find out your loved ones who has past are well and do draw close to you time to time, this is were the intrest in the paranormal realy starts.

People first start seeing spitit out of the corner and think they was somethink and maybe hear there name called, turn around and nobody is there. Next they may see a medium and get told how was with them, then it starts to make sence to them.

As the intrest grows, so the spirits show themselfs more clear to you and can see and hear them, ofter a time you may be out down the road and see someone down on there luck and see a spirit next to them. in time you get to trust what spirit tells you and you tell people what the spirit is saying and this is were a mediumship starts.

Thanks for that Alan, thats great. It makes perfect sense, I think that is why we meet the people we meet, sometimes they have been through the same things as you (like me and Harmony) and it's great to talk to someone who understands.

defibately i always think that most of the stuff we experince has to happen for a reason and it is quite odd sometimes when as alan says you meet somebody who has been through same sort of thing as you.
for me this was mores ow hen i had a rewading on the devlopment site it was spot and the stuff she siad there was no way she could have known and it was ovibously coming from spiirt. The child me and michael lost we always thought was a boy and she had a boy who would have been right age. I used to think why me and now it is more why not me

our little ones are loaned to us. They may be called back at any time. some without ever drawing a breath. We will never know when they will return from whence they came, and its better for us that way.

It is said also that children choose their parents.

If i choosed my mum and dad, i must of been drunk at the time or having a bad day.
But it is true that if you have had a lot of bad things going on in your life, then you realy apreshate the good things in live.

I have had a knife put to my throut when i was only 8 years old, put in hospital, thowen down the stairs, locked in a room with nothing to eat and not aloud to go to the toilet and nothing to drink, i've been stabbed with sisers and a dinning needle put on my seat and had to have it cut out of my backside.

I hated my childhood and in my teens, i hated the world and got drunk a lot and turned to music and got a band together, this kept me out of trouble and first started helping people.
Then i meet Sylvia and treaded her like a queen and her , me a king and though i was happy at long last and was very happy. Got married and three months ofter she got cancer and had a year off work looking ofter her tell she died.

I went back to the drink for a year and drunk everyday, then i started getting letters from her, i pured all the drink away and stopped.
All what i've been though i now put it to good use and help overs and have been self tought to hear and see spirit. but first saw when i was a kid.

If i choose this life, i must be mad and would not wish it on anyone.
I always try to give my kids the love i never had when i was a kid and fill wanted as i was not.
If we choose our lives, all i have ever wanted like most is to be happy.
Did i realy choose this life?

I was taken away from my mother for my own safety after a life of violence and finally she stabbed me in the head, but still I believe we choose our lives. Maybe we can help those we choose, and maybe not. But maybe we hope that our arrival will bring a change in those that need it.
I was once told that I chose my life to be difficult.
Maybe this was because I believed that I could cope better with it than another could.
We all have different levels of psychological strength, and maybe we could take the heartache and pain much better than someone weaker could.

Maybe you are right KC, to learn about life you need to live it first and does help you understand people and know how they fill.

When we come back we choose which lesson to learn in this life and when it has been learned and we return to spirit, we choose the next one and so on.

Your life now will be a life lesson you need to learn and then you can progress in your next life. It's all quite mind-blowing but interesting stuff.

Sometimes I think psychics/magical beings are able to relate to the people their meant to help better if they have gone through something traumatic/sad in their life. They obtain wisdom through some life experiences which is valuable. Others, just have gifts and they don't need to go through something to relate.

I think your dead right there, sorry, no pun intended

I do believe that we can help others better is we can truly understand what they are going through. I also think that those of us with gifts, whether it be spiritual or magical, are more open to other peoples feelings and maybe we give off some kind of vibes, because people seem happy to come and talk to us and are willing to be open and accept (usually) the advice we give them.

that certainly seems to be the case. I for one seem to draw people in. They seem to trust me and end up telling me things that they have never told another!

I'm not sure why people trust me so much, although it's lovely that they do, and a great privilage!

I will offer advice only when asked though.

When I do give advice, I'm not always sure where it's come from. Is it from my guide/helper, or is it from having my own life experiences.

More likely that it is a mixture of the two.

Does anyone else have similar experiences with people, or animals, children?

Children and animals are drawn to me aswell. I really seem to get on well with kids, whatever their age. Jamie's 14 yr old daughter thinks I ..."rock big time", and that is so lovely (they are super kids), plus it makes me feel less old...chuckle

Children seem to like me, which is a good thing, although I haven't had much dealings with kids. Animals are definately drawn to me and I seem to have a very calming effect on even the most difficult ones.
