The old river LimenI need some help from you guys - this house with all the problems is in Lyminge and I have just discovered there used to be an old river (long since gone) running through the village called the River Limen.
There seems to be very limited information around on this ancient river, so if anyone can find anything out for me that would be fantastic.
Lyminge name also means "settlement by the river", the speling has changed from LIM to LYM for the river and the INGE part apparently means settlement in old celtic.
Might help you guys a little. I have a few other people on the case aswell, so hopefully between us all we can come up with something.

Here's a link to a webpage which is some sort of essay produced by someone at the university of Kent about Lyminge

Very little I can find about this, but it would seem it's connected to the river Rother!
