Spirit/entityIs there a difference between a spirit and an entity or is it just a name?

Well my thinking on it is that an entity is an independant thinking life form, whether of this world or not. And a spirit is the very being of a thing, the soul if you like.
Here are some definitions I have found.
Entity
A real being, whether in thought (as an ideal conception) or in fact; being; essence; existence.
that which is perceived or known or inferred to have its own distinct existence (living or nonliving)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spirit
Spirit is defined as that all-encompassing, creative Order of the Cosmos which is before all beginnings and beyond all endings
noun: the vital principle or animating force within living things
noun: the general atmosphere of a place or situation and the effect that it has on people
noun: a fundamental emotional and activating principle determining one's character

Thanks KC, great info.
I wondered if it was just a phrase description of the same thing, like some people will use two different words to describe the same thing.
