Royston CaveI was looking for haunted places in counties joining Essex and come across this and about a hours drive from Canvey, it's just in Hertfordfotdshire at Royston.
The caves are under the town and once used by St Lawerance and St Catherine before being put to death by the romans.

That sounds great, be a bit of a trek for us Kent guys, but sounds worth a visit.
