Precognitive Dreaming ExpPrecognitive Dreaming Experiment
Details
Introduction.
How many people have you heard say they have gone to bed and dreamt of a plane crash, a terrorist bombing, or a car crash etc, then woke up in the morning only to find that what they dreamt of has actually happened?
Sadly, we see these kinds of events in the news media all too often.
What we don’t think about is that every time we do see something like this, or anything else on the TV, or in the news paper, or anywhere else, it is registered by our brains, and stored in our memory. Even if we are not readily thinking about it, it is still stored in our subconscious.
When we sleep, it is our most relaxed state; therefore we find it easier to access our subconscious. The information stored within it has a very high probability of manifesting itself in our dreams.
When we sleep, we go through a cycle, in this cycle is what’s known as the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) state, this more commonly known as REM sleep. This is when we are more likely to dream. This state occurs every ninety minutes. So if we sleep for around eight hours a night we have the possibility of dreaming up to five times during that sleeping period.
This to me indicates a very high probability that what we see in the news media can and does come from our subconscious memory, and manifest itself in a dream.
If we then wake to find that the events in our dream have actually happened in real life, there is a certain amount of chance, and coincidence involved.
The Experiment
This experiment is very simple, but to have any kind of reliability, has to continue over a set space of time. I am juggling with the idea of one month or two, but will discuss this with the volunteers when we meet to discuss this experiment further.
Once all the volunteers have been recruited, you will be summoned to a meeting where we will all gather for a Q&A session. This will then lead to the viewing of a target video clip. This clip will be approximately 30 minutes long, and will contain some news footage of recent events.
All you will have to do is watch it carefully, then go home, and continue you’re normal daily routine.
From the time of viewing the target video clip, you will be issued by me with a note book. This is to be used as a dream diary.
All you have to do is monitor you’re dreams over the set amount of time, and note them down in the dream diary. All dream descriptions should be as detailed as possible, and dated.
I know that sometimes we dream about things that are rather personal or sometimes rude (this can’t be helped), in this event, just leave it blank, or note that the dream did not contain any reference to the target video clip.
This is what we are looking for, anything you see in you’re dreams that resembled what you saw on the target video clip. This can be a complete re-run of what you saw, or just snippets of the clips. These are classed as hits due to the fact that what you have seen on the television has directly effected what you have dreamt.
What do I expect to learn from this experiment?
I am hoping that this experiment will give me some idea of how long it may take you’re subconscious to manifest you’re dreams, this will be spotted if a vast number of the volunteers all register up hits at roughly the same dates.
I also hope to see what type of event may be first to be manifested, as the target video clip will contain a few events, it will be interesting if the volunteers all dream of the same single event from the clip in any kind of order, or if the same event is dreamt about first by a number of people.
There is always a possibility that nothing will happen, and that none of the volunteers dream about anything on the target video clip.
End Notes
This has just been a brief run through of the main goals of the experiment, and the experiment itself. This was mainly to give any respective volunteers and idea of what they will be doing, should they choose to take part.
