These things cause so many problems and bring unwelcome sprits into a house and latch onto the young. The best thing for these is firewood and burn them.

I do believe it is wrong of most haunted to use these, i know some mediums do and know what they are doing, but kids see most haunted including Alistaire who is almost 15, I would not be happy if i found out he was near one and should not be on tv for kids to see as it was a repeat and on at 9 o'clock on cable.

I think it's wrong to, they should really advise against the use of then without proper protection. They are scary things and easy for youngsters to get hold of and play with.

Many years ago myself and some friends decided to do a week long experiment involving a home made board and got some interesting results.
Whoever the 'message' was for would break from the circle and take notes so that any possible influence from them was removed.
We had the usual stuff, such as contact with some guy that died in the Falklands. We researched his regiment and the ship he was on, but nothing. The information that he gave could not be substantiated.
On one occasion the spirit supposedly was my nan. I left the group and took notes. We asked for her name as proof and she gave her name as Elizabeth, which was right. Except it wasn't ! Everyone called my nan Betty and I assumed it was short for Elizabeth (because my mums was), but years later I discovered that it wasn't and that my nans name was actually Betty! So although they gave me the correct info, it was wrong, but I just didnt know it was wrong at the time.
I must add that no one at the sitting knew anything about my nan as she had died in the 70's, long before I knew the friends present.
So...did I influence the glass without even being sat at the table, such as telekenetics? Or... was there spirit...and did they read my thoughts and manipulate us into thinking it was a family member?

Or could it have been a spirit trying it on? I really don't know, I just feel very uncomfortable even at the thought of these things, not really sure why??

ouija boardsI am convinced they are bad news. When I was at school there were some girls messing around with one and it became addictive for them. There were the usual messages of curses, threats and I remember seeing a girl sobbing her heart out, shaking with real fear.
I dabbled with one around 20 years ago with my twin brother in Belgium. I was sceptical at the time but the results were sobering. Some entity contacted us and was not the spirit we believed it to be. Since coming on this site there have been sensible warnings against them which I very much trust and respect.
I am surprised that 'MOST HAUNTED' do not warn viewers against misuse? I think they should responsibly warn users of the risks

I think ouija boards can be a very useful tool for those who know what they are doing but as for anyone else they should stay clear as they can be very very dangerous. It would be like giving a blow torch to a kid, very safe in the right hands but very dangerous in the wrong hands.

Yes thats true HC, if you have proper protection and ask properly for the right spirits to come forward and close down peoperly, they are probably just as safe as working in a circle and bringing spirit forward.
Sadly, as you rightly say, in the wrong hands, they can cause so many problems and are so dangerous.

I strongly believe that all boards need to be burned. Sorry, but it just makes me so fustrated to see all the victims it has. Peoples ignorance attracks them to the board. Then unknowingly... it can allow contact (in my belief) with evil spirits and even demons. The board can be come abusive, and threatening like someone had said. It then can lead to possesion.

Many times a demon (or evil spirit>not to scare you as I know it might be frightening) will pretend their a loved one who has passed or just someone you knew. They can know A LOT of information and lead you to believe that they are that person. Without knowing, most likely, you are furtherly 'drawn' to the board because you think it's someone its not. It then can become abusive. The true 'addiction' comes when you are possesed. In my opinion, a part of you is still living in the deception, the other part is going through literally hell.
Beware of the board! You should only contact with spirits if you have the gifts! Not through a board... also a warning to anyone who is catholic/christian your not 'permitted' by religon to play the board because the church believes it allows demonic interaction.

Hi all
I have been along to a few ghost hunting type events where the mediums bring along boards for the guests to use. Do you think this is wrong? What is the proper way to protect yourself if you do use one? Also, if you believe that spirits that get in touch through these boards are impersonating other people and aren't the real person in question, how do you know that your other experiences with spirits are genuine and aren't with the same kind of impersonators? Does that make sense? I know that my uncle, who is very religious, goes on about how spiritualism is evil as it warns in the Bible that mediums are conversing with evil spirits/demons and not really the spirits of the deceased. (I would just like to add that I myself don't believe that, have no particular religious beliefs and do believe in spirit and that what mediums experience is real).

I personally feel that if mediums and those experienced in working with spirit want to use a board, thats their choice. Although to encourage members of the public who quite possibly have little or no experience in working with spirit to use them, is wrong IMO.
There is one big difference (I believe) in working with a board and working with spirit direct and that is that you can see from the "aura" if you like, of a spirit whether they are from the dark or from the light. Any spirit with no obvious pale aura around them should be avoided like the plague. I have seen a couple like this and immediately increased my protection and left well alone. These are the spirits who can lie to you, spirit from the light will not lie to you to lead you astray or into trouble.
When working with spirit using any means of communication, be it yourself as a medium, a pendulum, a board or a circle, you should always make sure you have done your protection (surrounded yourself with white light), or you have asked your angels/guides to come forward and be with you for protection and always, always only ask for those to come forward who are from the light. Don't say any spirit, because any really does mean any and includes all those from the darker side of the spirit world and you have just invited something into your house or circle which is probably not going to leave easily and that will enjoy creating havoc.

This was in fact replaced by a different law by Jesus which was spiritual law, not written but rather into the hearts and minds of Gods children. Christian Spiritualism is a denomination of Christianity. Surely when Catholics pray for Saints to act for them they are communicating with spirts? This is why in 1 John 4 it talks of the true and false spirit. This is my belief anyway.

Please remember any spirit means any that's good or evil.
All evil has to be invited and this is one of the most easiest ways of inviting evil, then have one hell of a job in getting rid of it. Also please remember that evil can take on any form and can lie. If you are not sure on what you are doing then don't do it as it's not worth the risk.

I can understand why some people to use these boards, 9 times out of 10 it's because they have a spirit in the house and want to know what the spirit wants and who it is.
Also because someone very close to them have pasted and want to get in contact and give there right arm just to speak to them one more time
People like thins are at a low point in there lives and in the spirit world like here, there is good a bad. With these boards, you ask if anybody is here, that means any spirit and evil can lie and take on many forms, but all evil has to be invited first and this is the most easiest way for a dark spirit to enter your home.
It is far safter to see a medium or a pyschic.
With the spirit world if you don't understand then don't do.
On a board if you used it 100 times, you need to be lucky 100 times and a dark spirit needs to be lucky once and i don't gamble but if i did, i would not like the odds.
