Hockley SoleAnyone know where Hockley Sole is? It's somewhere near Capel-le-ferne. There was an air crash their in 1942/1943 sometime, may be worth a visit if we can get close to the site of the crash. It was apparently at Tumble Tye Farm and happened because the plane was refused rights to land at Hawkings and was obviously in trouble!
If anyone has any info, please share with us.

We had a drive around there recently and sadly not much to see, except a tiny church at the end of a dead end road. Will see what else I can find about this area for you.

I had spoke to a friend of mine who is very much into world war two crash sites and has said we would find out about it at Shoreham on sea in sussex

The flying fortress that crashed at Hockle sole was B17F 42-3076 and crashed 28th july 1943
