Hi all,
I had a strange experience the other day, when I was out with one of the dogs, I was suddenly shown water and the link was very strong. Then when I asked for some more, I was shown a large wooden watermill with a huge wooden water wheel. I have had no luck in finding any possible locations of an old watermill in my area.
Any ideas?

Hi Manda, i've checked a map of Stelling Minnis of 1845 and can find no watermill and no river. There were three windmills there, lots of wells and a pub called the rose and crown, next door was the village smithy and close by was a methodist chapel, close to this is another windmill and just north is the Ebenezer chapel.
Were do you walk the dogs as this would help find the mill, but would have to of had a brook or river there to driver the wheel, could it be Stelling and not Stelling Minnis, will try and find it if i can. In 1845 there was a lot of woods around the area. _________________ The sprit world is all around us. |

Hi,
Thanks for that - most strange! The dogs are walked over the Minnis (common land) which is past the Rose and Crown pub towards Bossingham. It could be Stelling, it could equally be Bossingham or maybe even Rhodes Minnis or Elmstead. They are all close by.
Thanks for looking, I had no luck when I tried on the net.

Dover has an old corn mill that is open to the public. It still has the water wheel that drove it. _________________ * The chaos created by love is always worth the risk *

so it doesnt have to be a watermill because it has a water wheel. It could be an old corn mill or something of that nature. Start off finding rivers in the area, and go from there. Maybe you were being shown somewhere to investigate, or even a connection to someone. _________________ * The chaos created by love is always worth the risk *

Good point, i know many windmills were changed to steam power and were lots of windmills in the area in 1845, by 1870 a lot were being changed to steam and would exsplain it.
Awatermill has to have water to work it so would have to be a small river or brook to work the wheel. _________________ The sprit world is all around us. |

About six weeks ago now i took the kids to a windmill at Sandwich in Kent, there is a lot of spirit around the and was once used as a workhouse, well worth the visit. _________________ The sprit world is all around us. |

Sounds good - as I walked past my windmill in my village last night (in the dark out with one of the dogs) I felt such strong energy it actually knocked me off balance and made my head spin for a second or two.
I left quickly, but determined to come back on the way back round with the dog and connect with whatever was there. I did stop on the way back and connected with the spirit of a miller, his name was John and he was wearing what can only be described as a creamish coloured smock type thing - looked very strange, but I guess quite normal in his day.
I could not hear him speak, but when we connected, I knew he was speaking with a very strong kentish accent. That was very strange, but he seemed happy enough and was free to come and go as he pleased.
