I live about 10 mins from Lyminge and never knew the forest had so much history. Definately a place for an invest I think. Have a read of this:-
""It also has unexcavated and undisturbed bronze age, late iron age, Roman and early medieval sites where hundreds of pieces of pottery have been discovered. This forest was used for charcoal for iron smeltng in the Iron Age.
It has rare remains of Celtic, Roman and early medieval woodland settlements covering a period of over 4000 years. They left behind pottery, tools, sunken ways and charcoal pits - and their dead. Some Neolithic tools and burial mounds already listed as ancient monuments, have been found there""

To be honest, the UK is only a small place and full of history, especially the South East and East Anglia.
With a trained eye you can see many features in a landscape indicating human occupation that many would miss.
Kind Regards
