I have picked up a lot from the creckage of the canvey aircrash and passed the infromotion on to why the aircraft crashed.
I have asked about the Allhallows aircrash and was told the aircraft came down in the mud of the Thames near Combe farm near St Mary's bay not far from Allhallows and will try to get me a crash report on it.
Only one of the crew got out alive, the rest all died in the crash, i do think it is inportant that all these very brave airman are all remembered and that all have passed over to their rest, when i have a day free, i will make a point of going there and also the Essex side of the water were a spitfire came down in Vange creek.

have not been out to the wreck site for many years now there was alot of wreckage on the mud but the armybomb disposal buried most of it in the early 80's .the last time i visted part of a wing was visible ,how much is visible now i do not know ,if i get time i will go and have a look and take some photos and if possible pick a piece up .i would be interested if any thing could be picked up from this .
other crashes i know of include a farmer from essex whos aeroplane was found in the thames by divers and a couple of twin seater RAF fighters that were shot down in 1940 and whos crews were killed ,one air gunners body was washed up and is buried as unkown on the isle of grain .
perhaps it might be possible to try and contact some of these. |
